Before installing

  • Confirm that your operating system, processor, plugin format and recording host appear in the published supported-system matrix.
  • Back up important sessions, projects, presets, captures and system data.
  • Close recording hosts and other audio applications.
  • Download AmpStudio only from state.audio or an official State Audio account link.
  • Do not install modified, redistributed or unofficial packages.
Installer acknowledgement: I have reviewed the system requirements and installation guidance, and I understand that I should back up important projects and system data before installing. Nothing in this acknowledgement limits rights under applicable consumer law.

Install

The public release will provide signed, platform-trusted installers. The installer checks supported platform requirements before changing the system, requests only required permissions and records the State Audio files it installs.

Exact platform steps will be added after the macOS and Windows release installers pass installation, interruption, repair and rollback testing.

Where AmpStudio stores data

AmpStudio uses a dedicated product-owned data location for presets, captures, settings, caches and logs. Product operation, updates, migration, repair and cleanup are confined to that location.

Plugin bundles may be installed into standard platform plugin directories, but AmpStudio manages only the exact State Audio-owned bundle paths recorded by its installer. It does not manage unrelated applications, plugins, projects or user directories.

The precise macOS and Windows locations will be published here before release so customers can back up and migrate their data.

Updates and repair

Back up important work before updating. Updates within the purchased major version are included. If an update cannot complete, stop and follow the published repair or rollback procedure rather than manually deleting plugin or data folders.

Uninstall

Normal uninstall removes only manifest-owned State Audio application and plugin files. Presets, captures and other user-created content remain in the dedicated data location unless the customer separately and explicitly chooses to remove them.

Installation support

If installation fails or you believe another application or file was affected, stop further changes and contact support@state.audio. Include the installer version, operating system, host, approximate time, steps and any relevant installer or crash report. Do not send unrelated personal files.

These instructions do not exclude or limit rights under applicable consumer law.
